About Us

STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost effective. This provides our operators with a decisive edge in highly contested environments.

We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems - not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe - today.

Your mission

As a Load & Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and performance of UAV systems throughout the design, production, and testing lifecycle. You will perform classical hand calculations and advanced finite element analyses to size, validate, and optimize structural components under static and dynamic loading conditions.

Working closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, and test teams, you will provide rapid, data-driven feedback to support design improvements, resolve non-conformities, and assess production or test anomalies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform rapid hand calculations for initial component sizing and quick verification.

  • You will create, validate, and maintain Finite Element (FE) models for both static and dynamic calculations.

  • Provide continuous, data-driven feedback to the mechanical design team to optimize structural components and systems.

  • Give Guidance to engineering and production decisions regarding non-conformities using rapid analytical troubleshooting.

  • You will actively support ground and flight test activities, including hands-on, real-time support when required.

Qualifications
  • You have demonstrated experience performing classical hand calculations for structural sizing.

  • You are experienced with HyperMesh and OptiStruct for building, maintaining, and running static and dynamic FE simulations.

  • You possess an understanding of flight loads, load derivation, and industry-standard global-to-local load cascading approaches.

  • You are capable of delivering quick, reliable analyses under tight timelines to support production or test anomalies.

  • You have a proven capability to be flexible and creative under conditions with limited data to deliver structural assessments.

Nice to have
  • Ideally experience with ground test rigs, test setup, and execution.

  • You are familiar with ground and flight test instrumentation such as strain gauges and accelerometers.

  • Working knowledge of STANAG standards and regulations related to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

  • Experience with flight vibrations and ground vibration tests(GVTs)
