Project Management (PMO) Intern / Working Student (all genders)
STARK is a new kind of defence technology company, revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective. Our mission is to bolster the technological edge of NATO Allies and their partners to deter aggression and defend Europe.
About the team We don't just design the future - we build it, test it, and launch it. As the R&D Hardware Team, we are the force that turns concepts and ideas into physical reality. We thrive on a hands-on, solution-oriented mentality, fueled by a high-energy passion to engineer answers to real-world challenges.[6:46 PM]Your mission
As a Project Management Intern, you are the "connective tissue" of our engineering and operations teams. Your mission is to support the Program Management Office (PMO) in making complex hardware and software programs move faster.
This is not a "coffee-fetching" internship. You will be at the organizational core of strategic defense programs, helping to translate engineering chaos into structured progress. You will support our Senior Program Managers in tracking milestones, unblocking engineers, and ensuring that communication flows smoothly across the company. This role is a testing ground: we are looking for high-potential talent who can prove themselves during this internship and transition into a permanent Junior Project Manager role.
ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Tracking
Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking project milestones and workstreams using tools like Jira and Confluence. Ensure that task statuses are up-to-date and deadlines are visible.
Meeting Excellence: Support the organization of cross-functional meetings. You will be responsible for capturing key decisions, tracking action items, and following up with owners to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Financials & Cost Control
Budget Tracking: Actively track project costs against the approved budget (e.g., personnel, purchases).
Cost Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports for leadership and grant compliance.
Structure & Documentation
Documentation: Ensure project documentation is structured, audit-ready, and easily accessible for engineering, production, and operations teams.
Resource Support: Assist in coordinating logistics between teams, such as ensuring hardware prototypes are ready for scheduled testing windows.
Experience & Education
Academic Path: Currently enrolled in or between a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Finance, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Early Exposure: Previous internship experience in project management, consulting, or a fast-paced engineering environment is a significant advantage.
Technical Background & Skills
Tool Literacy: You are a quick study with software. Experience with Jira, Confluence, or advanced Excel/Google Sheets is highly valued.
Structure: You have a natural ability to organize information. You enjoy taking a messy list of problems and turning it into a prioritized plan.
Language: You are a clear and direct communicator in English. German language skills are a strong plus.
Mindset & Working Style
Proactive "Doer": You don't wait for a manual. You see a gap and you fill it. You’d rather take initiative and ask for feedback than wait for permission.
High-Stakes Resilience: You are comfortable in a demanding, mission-driven environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
Security: Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations).
