About Us

STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost effective. This provides our operators with a decisive edge in highly contested environments.

We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems—not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe—today.

About the team Minerva is STARK's command and control software — the brain that connects operators to autonomous systems across multiple domains in real time. The Minerva team is a small, senior software group based in Berlin and Munich, working directly with our systems and hardware teams to build mission-critical C2 capabilities deployed in active operational environments.
We move fast, ship real software, and operate under constraints most engineers never encounter — low-bandwidth networks, air-gapped devices, high-stakes decision loops. There is no room for abstraction for its own sake. Everything we build ends up in the hands of real operators in the field. Your mission

To ensure that technical changes across our products are planned, tested, documented, and released in a controlled and reliable way.

As a Systems Engineer – Engineering Change & Release Management, you will own and support the technical change process across everything related to our ground control station (GCS). You will make sure that Engineering Change Requests (ECR) are properly prepared, reviewed, validated, and documented before they become part of a product release.

This role is ideal for someone who understands engineering, enjoys structured processes, and can connect technical teams with production, testing, configuration management, and supply chain. You will help ensure that every product configuration is clear, every test result is meaningful, and every release has a solid technical basis.

Responsibilities

● Engineering Change Management: Support and coordinate Engineering Change Requests regarding the GCS. This involves the communication to hardware, software, systems, production, and supply chain teams, ensuring changes are technically sound and properly documented.

● Configuration & Release Control: Ensure that product configurations, version statuses, BOMs / EBOMs, test setups, and release documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in the relevant tools, including 3DEXPERIENCE.

● Test Planning & Validation: Plan, coordinate, and review required tests for engineering changes, ensuring that test scope, success criteria, required material, configuration baselines, and expected results are clearly defined before execution.

● Flight Test & Field Coordination: Work closely with our flight test teams, engineering, and operations to prepare, execute, and document validation activities for product changes and release candidates.

● Process Compliance: Ensure that engineering change and release processes are followed consistently, especially when products move from development into serial production or operational deployment.

● Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a technical interface between engineering, software, production, supply chain, quality, and testing teams to ensure all stakeholders work from the same configuration and understand the impact of changes.

● Documentation & Traceability: Maintain clear technical records, test evidence, decision logs, configuration baselines, and release documentation to support safe, auditable, and reliable product development.

Qualifications

● Experience: Around 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, product engineering, configuration management, change management, test engineering, or a similar technical role.

● Educational Background: Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.

● Engineering Understanding: Strong technical understanding of complex products involving hardware, software, electronics, mechanical components, and system-level integration.

● Change & Release Process Experience: Practical experience with Engineering Change Requests, change control boards, configuration management, release processes, or product lifecycle management in a technical environment.

● Tool Experience: Experience working with PLM, configuration management, or engineering data management tools. Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE is highly desirable.

● Test & Validation Mindset: Ability to define meaningful test requirements, review test results critically, and ensure that changes are only released based on valid technical evidence.

● Software Affinity: Basic understanding of software-related topics such as IP networking, protocols, HTTPS, authentication, versioning, software configuration, and system integration.

● Organizational Strength: Strong ability to structure work, coordinate stakeholders, track open actions, prepare material and test plans, and drive topics to completion.

● Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently with engineering, software, production, supply chain, and test teams.

● Clearance: Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance required for the position.

Nice to have

● Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, UAVs, robotics, marine systems, aviation, or other vehicle-based engineering environments.

● Familiarity with V-model development processes, verification and validation, technical documentation, or quality-relevant engineering workflows.

● Experience with flight testing, field testing, test ranges, prototype validation, or operational product testing.

● Understanding of BOM structures, EBOM flows, production handover, supply chain dependencies, and release readiness.

Why STARK?

At STARK, you will help ensure that advanced autonomous systems are not only developed quickly, but released safely, reliably, and with full technical traceability. You will work at the center of engineering, testing, production, software, and supply chain, making sure that every product change is understood, validated, and ready for real-world use.

This is a role for someone who combines engineering judgement with process discipline, practical coordination skills, and a strong sense of responsibility for product safety and release quality.
